Overview

Is there a Relation between Tc and Magnetism in High Temperature Superconductors?

Biography

Dr. Peter Lemmens studied Physics at the University of Technology in Aachen (RWTH) and worked in the field of magnetism and high temperature superconductivity during his graduate studies (PhD). After apostdoc at the University of Hiroshima, Japan, he joined the group of Gernot Guntherodt in Aachen to establish a major activity in Raman light scattering on superconductors and correlated electron system (DSc). After an associate research position at the Max-Planck Institute of Solid State Research in Stuttgart he became Professor in Physics in Braunschweig in 2004. His activities have extended into the areas of light-matter interactions in nanoscale materials, metrology, and include topological aspects of solid state physics. Since then he has published more than 200 papers. Dr. Lemmens is a member of the Graduate School on Metrology, the Graduate School on Contacts in Nanosystems, the Laboratory of Emerging Nanometrology, and the Center for Solid State Chemistry and Novel Materials, of the Leibnitz University Hannover.
