Overview
Frustrated Quantum Magnets: From Crystal Growth to Emergent Excitations
Biography
Dr. Bin Gao is a Research Scientist at Rice University. He earned his B.S. in Physics from Peking University and his Ph.D. in Physics from Rutgers University under the mentorship of Prof. Sang-Wook Cheong Dr. Gao’s expertise lies in single crystal growth and neutron scattering. Notably, he built the third high-pressure laser-diode floating zone (HPLFZ) furnace in the United States. His current research investigates quantum spin liquids, and topological magnetic materials. Dr. Gao’s work on quantum spin liquid has been published in journals such as Nature Physics, Nature Communications, and Science Advances.
